This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome browser extension and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account using Google OAuth, we collect:
- Email address (required for account creation and authentication via Google)
- Full name (optional, provided by your Google account for personalization)
- Account preferences and settings
Note: We use Google OAuth for authentication, which means we do not collect or store passwords. Authentication is handled securely by Google, and we only receive your email address and optional profile information (such as name) that you authorize Google to share with us.
2.2 LinkedIn Profile Data
When you use UniPing to analyze a LinkedIn profile, we collect publicly available information from that profile, including:
- Name, headline, and location
- About section and professional summary
- Work experience and employment history
- Education background
- Skills and endorsements
- Projects and achievements
- Profile image URL
- Profile URL
Important: We only extract data from LinkedIn profiles that you actively choose to analyze. We do not automatically scrape or collect data from profiles you do not visit.
2.3 Usage Information
We collect information about how you use the Service, including:
- Number of profile analyses performed
- Subscription tier and billing cycle
- Usage dates and frequency
- Feature preferences (tone, goal, short mode settings)
- Browser and extension version information
2.4 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Dodo Payments, a third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card information. Dodo Payments collects and processes payment information in accordance with their privacy policy. We only receive:
- Subscription status and billing information
- Payment history and transaction records
- Subscription product IDs and plan details
2.5 Support and Feedback
If you contact us for support or submit feedback, we may collect:
- Your name and email address
- Support ticket content and messages
- Bug reports and technical information
- Browser and system information for troubleshooting
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service: Process profile analyses, generate personalized messages, and deliver research insights
- Manage Your Account: Authenticate users, manage subscriptions, and track usage limits

4.1 Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Service:
- Supabase: Hosts our database and authentication services. Your account data and profile information are stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure.
- Dodo Payments: Processes subscription payments. Payment information is handled by Dodo Payments and subject to their privacy policy.
- OpenAI: Powers our AI message generation. Profile data is sent to OpenAI's API to generate personalized messages and research. OpenAI's use of data is governed by their privacy policy and API terms.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to:
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect our rights, property, or safety
- Prevent fraud or abuse
- Respond to valid legal requests
4.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
5. Data Storage and Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
- Encryption: Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Sensitive data at rest is encrypted.
- Secure Storage: Your data is stored on Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security measures.
- Access Controls: Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to provide the Service.
- Local Storage: Some data (like authentication tokens and cached profile data) is stored locally in your browser's Chrome storage for performance and offline access.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Service to you
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes. Profile data extracted from LinkedIn is not retained after processing unless you explicitly save it.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request access to your personal information
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and associated data through the account deletion feature
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications (service-related emails cannot be opted out of)

8. Children's Privacy
UniPing is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have that information removed.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- LinkedIn: We extract publicly available data from LinkedIn profiles. Your use of LinkedIn is subject to LinkedIn's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI: Profile data is sent to OpenAI for AI processing. Review OpenAI's Privacy Policy and API Terms.
- Supabase: Our backend infrastructure provider. Review Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Dodo Payments: Payment processor. Review Dodo Payments' Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
UniPing uses browser storage (Chrome's local storage) to:
- Store authentication tokens and session information
- Cache profile data for improved performance
- Remember your preferences and settings
- Track onboarding completion status
We do not use cookies or tracking technologies for advertising purposes. You can clear your browser storage at any time through Chrome's settings, though this may require you to sign in again.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Posting the updated Privacy Policy in the Service
- Sending an email notification to the address associated with your account
- Displaying a notice in the extension
Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
